Phaedra Parks’ husband, Apollo Nida of Bravo’s Real Housewives of Atlanta has just plead guilty to bank, mail and wire fraud in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. Nida accepted the charges and he is now facing major prison time, possibly 30 years and a fine of up to $1 million after pleading guilty to ID theft and bank fraud in court on May 6th. Also an estimated $2.3 million in restitution for those he defrauded. The honorable Judge Charles Pannell set Apollo’s sentencing hearing for July 8th.
The break down of Nida’s fraud ring is this: He established a phony debt collection agency which in turn allowed him access to the database of people’s personal information. That’s how he was able to steal the identity of many and located unclaimed funds from the U.S. Department of Housing as well as stolen treasury checks from fraudulent income tax returns. Apollo had an accomplice, Gayla St. Julien, however she has already received her sentence for her part in the crime. She was sentenced to 61 months in April 2014. St. Julien was caught and arrested; which led the feds to Nida after his laptop was turned over with all the evidence against him.
Apollo’s wife, Phaedra Parks who is an attorney in Atlanta, is expected to be back for another season of Bravo’s Real Housewives of Atlanta. The couple has two young sons.
