NEW YORK (ABC News) — Legendary fashion designer Oscar de la Renta has died at age 82, a family member told ABC News on Monday night.
He was diagnosed with cancer in 2006.
Throughout his illustrious career, de la Renta dressed first ladies, movie stars and some of the world’s most famous brides.
His creations regularly graced red carpets and his name is one of the best known both in and outside of the industry.
He made his name in the 1960s when first lady Jacqueline Kennedy wore his designs.
Most recently, he designed Amal Clooney’s wedding dress.
Rest in peace you brilliant man.
